Week 29 Thanks be to God

February 24, 2019 Week 29     This week has been a beautiful and hot week full of miracles and eye opening to me. The week began with our zone conference, and the main message of it was that of family history. The Spirit of Elijah is alive and well in the Australia Adelaide Mission and also throughout the world. We have been instructed my our mission president, President Marquis to focus on family history approaches while talking to people, whether they are members or not, and it has been a wonderful thing. We have seen, and heard of many great things that have come as a result of the 'hearts of the fathers turning to their children, and the hearts of the children turning to their fathers.' (Malachi 4:5-6)    Elder Hayes and I have united ourselves in Faith, and pressed forward in Christ, and we were able to teach three people this week, and that is a tender mercy when you consider the fact that we haven't taught almost anybody in our two months toge...

Week 28 This Day

February 18, 2019 Week 28   This week was all over the place but no matter what happens, there is nowhere else that I'd rather be than serving the Lord.    We had another hot week here in Darwin, the 'wet' season here has been rather dry, as we haven't had any cyclones or monsoons. We have had a few decent storms this week, but while the rain came down harder than I have ever seen, it only lasted for about 30 minutes. We still have a chance for a monsoon to show up late in the next few weeks so my fingers are crossed.   We did service for a man who was on a cruise for a month, so his 5 acre yard was absolutely overgrown. I love serving people in any way that I can and that is the best way to show people how much we love the Savior.    We are doing all we can in our massive area and serving with all that we can. Even when it looks like we are not having what most of the world sees as success, we know that we are exactly where the Lord...

Week 27 Choose to Act

February 10, 2019 Aussies are the best at finding the shortest way to say anything, and it is actually pretty funny. Aussie -"That's the go!"  English - "That's the way to go! There are heaps of other phrases like this and it is the coolest thing ever.  On Friday, we had our great Elder McDonald flown down to Adelaide from Darwin, as he is coming to the conclusion of his mission. He is a powerful Elder, and has done much good in his time here in Australia. As such, we "adopted" his companion, Elder Mabey for these past few days and it has been a lot of fun, and we have learned a lot from each other.    As this was the last week of the transfer, Elder Hayes, Mabey and I decided to get a massive order of fish n chips (just in case we get transferred) , and we spent $50 between the three of us, and all I can say is that Aussie fish n chips are top of the line. Also, none of us were transferred. I will be staying out in the rural booni...

Week 26 Patience in Trials

February 4, 2019 Dear family and friends, I wish I had more time, but rather simply, I don't.   Well, last week I had an infection in my eye, now I have boils on my face, and am now getting a cold. Definitely learning patience. We spent 2 days in the flat this week.    I bought a cool shirt for district p-day. We tried to go fishing, but it was raining with thunder, lightning, and almost flooding from rainwater. I'll send photos later maybe.  God has been teaching me patience throughout this week. As you are all patient in your trials, I hope you are willing to wait for the beautiful blessings He is waiting to give you.    Doctrine and Covenants 121: "7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;   8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes."   Firm in the Faith,       -El...
