Week 33 He is There

March 25, 2019 I have no time. I got transferred across the continent to Adelaide, Aberfoile Park. Don't have a companion yet. Woke up at 3 am.  Also my p-day is being moved to Wednesdays from here on out, starting next week. Love you all, and I am excited to take this next step forward in the work of the Lord. He is there Doctrine and Covenants 84:88 “And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you to bear you up.” Love you all, and I am excited to take this next step forward in the work of the Lord. Week 32 Standard of Truth

March 17, 2019 This week was a bit shorter than the others, because our preparation day got moved to Wednesday last week, so this might be a little bit short. Elder Hayes and I had trade offs with Elder Mabey and Elder Pekipaki on Thursday and I was with Elder Mabey. He has only been on his mission about 4 months and has the missionary fire that I love so much! He loves talking to people, is extremely friendly, humble, and willing to learn all he can to serve God in every way that he can. He is also 6'5".  The fruits of preparation are real. Elder Hayes and I taught a lesson to a returning member, and the lesson was such a powerful one. It brought tears to his eyes, and we know he felt the Spirit confirming the truth to him once more. One reason why that lesson went so well is because Elder Hayes and I prepared so well for it. We knew the answers to his questions, knew the scriptures to share with him, and how we could bear our testimonies in such a way that he would f...

Week 31 10,000 Talents

March 12, 2019 Week 31 Well this week was absolutely full of exciting things. I see why the Book of Mormon could only contain one one-hundredth part of their history, my emails probably contain less than one percent of what I learn, do, and experience. This week we were doing service for a member. We were weeding a small pen, where she is going to put a wallaby, and I pulled out a big weed only to discover that it was a nest of ginger ants (they aren't that big by Australian standards). These ants pee on you before they bite, because the scent tells the other ants to come over and bite you. That was lots of fun.  On Friday night, we had the storm to end all storms, except it only lasted about 3 hours. As we drove back to the flat, it all started with lightning. For about an hour, there literally was constant lightning in the sky, there wasn't a 3 second break. Then the wind came like a whirlwind, and then the rain came sideways for about an hour, and the locals ...

Week 30 A Certain Standard

March 3, 2019 Darwin is as hot and humid as ever, but I am as good as it gets, I think. It is hard to imagine being any happier, despite all of the difficult things we do as missionaries. This week we were able to help a man named Ned in his 5 acre yard, and it was an overgrown mess. He was in South America for a month for a cruise, and everything just GROWS with all the rain we get. We have actually gone over there 3 times now and have cleared away three or four trailer loads each time.  I know without a doubt that God is with us in our work in Palmerston South. It is unimaginable to me that we do what we do all day, every day, and we still end the day happy. It is true true true that God will consecrate the efforts of the righteous. If you are doing all that you can, leaving nothing left, and it still looks like you got nothing done...God has promised us that no effort of ours will be wasted. It is just like Ned's yard. We have done heaps for him and his yard, and even tho...
