Week 41 Is This Not Real?

May 21, 2019 Hello once more family and friends, this week was yet another week that I will never forget. We had two broadcasts from President Nelson and Elder Gong, while they are traveling the Pacific Area. In the first broadcast from Sydney, Elder Gong spoke of the power of prayer, and President Nelson spoke on the importance and nature of the Book of Mormon. Just the fact that they flew halfway across the globe to deliver these messages specifically to the people of Australia touched my heart. These messages also touched my heart because these are two subjects that I have been personally striving to implement into my life as a missionary.  The second broadcast from Auckland was even more touching because it was specific to the missionaries in the Pacific area. President Nelson gave a firm reminder of who we are as missionaries, what we are called to do, and why we are called to do it.  After the broadcast, we had our zone conference, but this one was a bit diff...

Week 40 A Perfect Brightness of Hope

May 14, 2019 Another week gone in the wonderful land down under! We had a few exciting things happen this week... On Saturday night we got a call from the Sisters telling us that they needed me to Baptize one of the people that they are teaching, because it was Mother's Day and they couldn't get anybody else to do it. That was awesome! As I spoke the words necessary for Baptism, I felt as if God were speaking through me, almost as if my voice literally became His voice.  On Tuesday night, we visited Rebecca and Allan, Rebecca who is extremely ready and excited for Baptism, and Allan who has a long way to go, but has had a profound change of heart in the past month. Their son turns eight this month and wants to be Baptized as well, The worth of souls is great in the eyes of God and also in the eyes of me! Elder Küchler and I are getting along great. We have deep gospel conversations almost all day, and we are able to strengthen one another's testimonies. He l...

Week 39 Be Not Weary

May 7, 2019 Perhaps I entitled this email in the way I did because this week was a long one, full of surprises, but as we pressed forward, we truly saw the hand of God, almost as if the veil had been torn from our eyes. Saturday was the last 'real' day of the transfer, and it was a long one, but we kept going, and we were able to meet almost all of the people who we had not been able to contact throughout our time in Aberfoyle Park thus far.  I am so grateful that Elder Ostler and I were able to end this transfer on a 'high note' because to both of our surprise, Elder Ostler was transferred on Monday, and I now have a new companion! His name is Elder Kuchler, and he is from Germany! He loves to cook, loves to serve, and shares my love of camping. He has the coolest accent, and that, along with his ability to delve deep into the gospel, makes me think that I am hearing the voice of Elder Uchtdorf! How blessed am I to have a young Uchtdorf for companionship s...

Week 38 Pay the Price

April 30, 2019 Week 38 We had a really eventful week, and I thought I would share a few of those things with you all. Last Saturday, the Happy Valley Ward had it's first convert Baptism in 3 years! The Baptism was for a wonderful lady by the name of Dorothy. We had one of our friends attend the Baptism, who brought her 7 year old son. She told us that after the Baptism, her son just talked all day about how much he wanted to be baptized!  They came to church the next day, and he told all the primary kids that he was going to get baptized in 3 weeks when he turns 8! His dad then pulled up to pick them up from church, and the son walked up to the car, opened the door, and said something along the lines of this: "Dad! You are already here! You might as well park the car and come inside to church!" He did not, but you gotta love little kids! On Monday we were trying to visit one of our friends, he wasn't home. We looked next door and there was a man raking...
