Week 47 That Fuzzy Feeling

Image
July 2, 2019 Week 47 Elder Rawlings and I did all that we possibly could to move the work forward this week, and we truly saw miracles that we will never forget. One such event occurred last Saturday as we were teaching a man for the first time. It was a short visit. We only discussed prayer and how the Holy Ghost visits us and confirms truth. As I concluded bearing my testimony, he said "I like it when you guys come. You bring a good feeling with you. It feels...tingly." I proceeded to ask him if he knew what that was, and he replied after a bit of reflection "It's the Holy Ghost!" Another occurrence later that day: It was raining heaps, and we were out just knocking some doors. A lady answered one, and said "Hello it is Mr. Mr. Mormon is it not?" We said "Sure, some people call us that!" She proceeded to basically Bible bash with us, and just as I was about to stoop to her level and teach her the truth, Elder Rawlings tap...

Week 45 The Power of Prayer

June 18, 2019 Week 45 I don't have much time to write this week, but the work marches forward, and I am marching with it. Sometimes despite our best efforts, things may not work out the way we hoped, but I do know that when the end comes, God can, and will work it all out, through the Atonement of His Son, Jesus Christ. This last week, we were able to help two of the people that we are teaching to accept a Baptismal date, and one reason why they accepted is because they knew that principle that I just shared is true, and they wanted to live accordingly. I am in a new area with a new companion, Elder Rawlings from Idaho Falls. We were roommates in the MTC together, and now get to serve side by side to bring salvation to God's children here in Hackham West, South Australia. Just like Nephi says in 1 Nephi 1:1, we have had many afflictions, but we are highly favoured of God, due to our Faith. (1 Nephi 1:20) Life is rough, it is a big adventure, and ...

Week 42 The Lifestyle of Happiness

May 28, 2019 Another week has passed in Aberfoyle Park, and even though it isn't super cold here, it is surprisingly cold enough to wear a jacket every now and then. When I originally opened my call and discovered I was headed to Australia, I thought Australia was the "driest continent"...If the internet or anybody else tells you that lie...don't believe it. It has rained every day and night for the past week, and it is rain that you will never see in Utah. Nothing compared to Darwin here in Adelaide, but enough to make you wonder why Australians make all of their roofs out of tin. Elder Küchler and I have been working with a friend of ours who has been to church twice now. His wife and son are both preparing for Baptism, and he admitted to us on Sunday that he wants to learn for himself, rather than just to understand what it means for his wife. We taught him some basics of what we believe, he opened up, and nearly teared up. (Australians are hardcore so that...
