Week 51 Where to Find It

July 30, 2019 I can't comprehend how fast the time goes. Such is the nature of the mission! This week we had transfers, and luckily, I am staying here in Hackham West! We have some great things going for us, and some other great things coming up in the future. One such upcoming event is a wedding for a couple that we have been teaching. They have been taught for almost a year, and haven't been progressing, but recently they have had a change of heart and are now "steam-engining" their way towards marraige and baptism! Where to Find it This truly is God's work, and while the majority of the people here use their agency to not have much care for what we share, there are a select few who have been truly prepared to hear the word by the hand of God. There are "those that will receive [us]" (Doctrine and Covenants 42:8) and the message we share. There really are people who are "kept from the truth because they know not where to find it." ...

Weeks 49-50 All Things in Christ

July 24, 2019 Well I missed a week. We were too busy chasing Kangaroos last week to email, but I'll write a good one today. In the last 2 weeks, Elder Rawlings and I have been on exchanges with 4 different companionships. I was with Elder Taunima from Arizona on Sunday, Elder Baatar from Mongolia on Monday-Tuesday, Elder Syme from Mississippi on Thursday-Friday, and Elder King from Idaho Friday-Saturday. This mission is full of great missionaries who are doing great things! Just 2 weeks ago a person that we are teaching told us: "I personally feel that I don't need to pray to ask for things from Heavenly Father. He can do anything, so if something is going to happen, it'll just happen. I don't need to ask." On Sunday she had a change of heart! Her cat had been missing for 4 days, and we suggested that she pray about it. After we left...she did. Her husband went outside for a walk, and a minute or so later, he walked back in with the cat in his arms....

Week 48 First Law of Heaven

July 9,2019 Week   48 We met a few interesting people this  week ! We knocked on a door and a sick, grumpy, old lady opened it and said they weren't interested, but we kept talking to her until she gave up and told her husband to come out and talk to us. We looked at each other and both thought "oh no, here comes the husband." He then proceeded to open the door, offer us some water and let us in and offered us a seat. He then told us that he has had Faith in God his whole life, but now that the world is so scary, he has given up on God. We were able to share some scriptures with him, and rekindle a desire to believe once more. We left him, and his now friendly, but still sick and tired wife, a Book of Mormon and told them that we would see them next  week . We also met a man knocking doors who came out and told us "I don't have time for this...but hey, I'm drunk so I might as well." Turns out he thinks 2+2=5 depending on how you look at it. ...
