Week 72 The Plain Road

December 26, 2019 Yet again, I am short on time, but I have a cool thought for you all and a quick update! Last week it was pretty chilly. 100 on Monday, 103 on Tuesday, 106 on Wednesday, and 109 on Thursday. Everybody was huddled inside their homes with the lights off and the air conditioner on. I think we were the only people outside, and everybody told us we were crazy. Are we? Yes. I love being crazy!  We also were knocking a unit complex known for its interesting inhabitants, and we found a Koala in the tree! I have a firm testimony that God gives specific answers to specific prayers! After getting on my knees many nights last week and pleading with the Lord to bless these people, and asking what more I can do, my mind is filled with ideas, and I write them down with a grateful heart. He is real and is listening. 2 Nephi 4:32 "32 May the gates of hell be shut continually before me, because that my heart is broken and my spirit is contrite! O Lord, wilt...

Week 71 Christmas

December 17, 2019 Dear everybody... My time is short but we had a fun week! I said a closing prayer at one of our lessons with our friends, and it was rather interesting because he kept saying amen in the middle of the prayer. "Please bless Drew and his home" *AMEN* ...etc. etc. Etc. Lots of other fun stuff, but we will have to save it for some other time a bit down the track around a campfire or something. John 3:16 "16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God's love is greatly manifested in the gift of His Son to us, His Children. Omni 1:26 "26 And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, an...

Week 70 The Knowledge of the Lord

December 10, 2019 G'day to all of you again, I hope your week has been well! Here in Australia, we are knocking on doors and hunting for those who are ready to receive us. Many times people will yell through the door and ask who it is and carry on an entire conversation with us without even opening the door. Kinda strange.  We met a man from New Zealand who has family in the church, and he kept telling us that he 'isn't on the market' for religion, yet asked us for a Book of Mormon and told us we could come back. It is so cool to meet "atheists" that again and again say that they don't have any beliefs, and yet you can see in their eyes and in their words that they all know deep down that there really is something more to this life than we can see with our mortal eyes. They just won't admit it, because they know that if they do, they will have to change, because their life is not in line with what God would have them do. And so they say 'no...

Week 69 They Were Not Troubled

December 3, 2019 Another fast, fun, and fruitful week in the Australia Adelaide Mission! I am short on time, so I will jump right into it.  Last Saturday, we planned to go on a brief exchange with another companionship of Elders because of some unique reasons, and while on exchanges with Elder Davis, we were able to teach a wonderful couple in their area. Earlier in their lives, this couple had been deeply involved in some not too nice stuff, evil spirits and so forth, so they are all extremely skeptical about anything that claims to be from an external source. For example, while explaining how the Book of Mormon came about, they asked, "where did Joseph get the plates from?" I said, "from an Angel." almost simultaneously they looked up at each other with the expression of *oh that makes sense now* looked back at us, and said "yup that was a demon, not an Angel."  This experience got me pondering on how there are such wonderful people out the...
