Week 83 Nothing Shall Overthrow It

March 10, 2020

Another week rolls by like the waves in the sea. There is my poetical touch for the week. I'll jump right into it:

At lunch one day, I was reading an ensign article (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/1992/04/abinadis-teaching-style?lang=eng). When I read the articles I don't often check who it is written by because the content is the interesting stuff. But this time I felt prompted to look. So I did, and here is what I found: "...lives in the Marion Ward, Adelaide Australia Marion Stake). Instantly I knew that wasn't a coincidence, after all, I am currently in the Marion Ward. I looked her up on member tools, and she was listed as a "DNV" (Do Not Visit). Well we went to visit her yesterday anyway expecting a miracle to occur. Lo and behold, at the address there was nothing there. She has probably moved on to the Spirit world and her home has been leveled to the earth. (The land is for sale if anybody is interested in owning land in Adelaide!). My potential miracle for the week was dashed to pieces before my eyes, but I wanted to share it anyway!

But we have many other miracles to share, testifying to Christodelphians, Baptist Ministers, Lutherans, Church of Christ, Catholics, Jehovah's Witness, Pentecostals, Athiests (they're the most fun) never gets old! We also got a new companion so Elder Kennach and I are now back in a trio with Elder Olsen from Utah. He is much better at teaching Elder Kennach English than I am.

I also had the privilege of attending the temple to do baptisms/confirmations last Friday with 2 of my recent converts from the Onkaparinga Ward. One had gotten his own names, his father and his wife. The spirit was so strong when I laid my hands on his head and confirmed his father a member of the church.

Nothing shall Overthrow it

 Mosiah 27:13

"...For the Lord hath said: This is my church, and I will establish it; and nothing shall overthrow it, save it is the transgression of my people."

Lawrence E. Corbridge, in a BYU Devotional said something similar:

The prophet Daniel said that in the last days:

"shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever."

The Kingdom of God is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It will “stand for ever.”

The question is, Will you and I stand? Will you stand forever, or will you go away? And if you go, where will you go?" (BYU Devotionals, Stand Forever)

When reading this verse of scripture a few days ago, I imagined the voice of God speaking to the world, responding to the false doctrine, the teachings of men, the adversary, the deception and distraction by saying in our behalf:

"This is my son. This is my daughter. I love them and they love me. They know Me and My Plan. They know my Son Jesus Christ. You (the opposition) cannot do anything to sway them. I forbid it. The only thing that can seperate them from me is their own transgression."

If we will love God with all of our heart, nothing in, above, or below this world, seen or unseen is able to tear us from Him, unless we allow it. So...don't allow that to happen. Choose to stay by His side!

Firm in the Faith,
